OUR STORY

About WOLF FM

An internet-only radio station playing the best hits of the 70s, 80s, and 90s, all day, every day.

The station

Music you know by heart

Think Wham!, Whitney Houston, The B-52s, Kool & the Gang, and DEVO. If it got you dancing in the car or singing along at a party, it belongs here.

Familiar hits, no algorithm, no long talk breaks.

Where we came from

Nashville, online since the late ’90s

WOLF FM went on the air from Nashville, Tennessee, in the late 1990s, when internet radio was brand new. Its founder, Steve Wolf, built it into one of the more popular internet-only stations of that era, with over a million listener-hours a month at its peak.

Internet radio nearly didn’t survive those years. In the early 2000s, proposed royalty rates threatened small webcasters, and stations like this one spoke up for the industry.
